Polishing and Buffing Pad Materials: For Demanding Applications

Atvantage®:   The Next Generation

Composite Insulating and Structural Cores

We were challenged to create composite materials specifically for the Aerospace Industry that are progressive and innovative.  They must meet and surpass the intense demands of the market.  For you it is imperative that we excel on specific criteria that is unique and precise for your product requirements.  THE RESULT: The Next Generations of Atvantage® Composite Insulating Cores (CIC) and Composite Structural Cores (CSC).

Composite Insulating Core (CIC): New Product – CIC007
CIC is a structured fiber array, utilizing advanced manufacturing and textile technology that produces moldable, needled, fiber-supported, nonwoven insulating cores. The superior design offers the edge where insulation and stability in high temperature environments are required.  It has excellent dimensional stability while resisting shedding or linting. CIC can be chemically enhanced but does not need woven fabric support. It can be used in many product designs, including those that must pass tough industry standards such as FAR 25.853, U.L 94 HB, and BAC-5564.

New Product, CIC007 (see specifications), is the continuation of this superior product line specifically developed for the challenging aerospace environments where products need to withstand critical maintenance while upholding the highest quality standards. CIC007 has excellent Velcro® compatibility for easy structural attachment during repeated engagements of hook fasteners.  It is able to resist fiber release for optimum cleanliness.  CIC007 also has excellent repellency against oil and water.  This chemical engineering benefit of water and oil repellency can also be added to the other products in the CIC line.  These products include:

bullet

CIC001 – lightweight, low density insulating batting.

bullet

CIC002 & CIC006 – consistent Z-axis integrity provides uniform thickness and density.

bullet

CIC003 – resilient with rapid compressive recovery ensuring surface uniformity.

bullet

CIC004 – dense formidable construction yielding unique compressive strength.

Composite Structural Core (CSC):   New Product - CSC005
CSC005 meets the demanding aerospace challenge to be lighter and thinner.   It is designed for enhanced vibration and acoustical attenuation, and thermal insulation while providing structural properties.  It is manufacturing compatible with standard composite material processing methods and pre-preg systems.  We will work closely with you to provide CSC005 in mediums that fit your manufacturing processes.  It is available in a wet moldable state that is contained in an air tight environment without requiring refrigeration.  CSC has exceptional impact resistance and will provide excellent damage tolerance.
